Barack Obama's bid to become the first black president faced the final test of his remarkable two-year journey Tuesday, while Republican John McCain pressed for an Election Day upset.
Their sense of urgency growing, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are spending their time trying to win over the same voters in those few states still too close to call.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Thursday dismissed suggestions the nominating convention could be marred by tensions between his supporters and the die-hard backers of Hillary Clinton.
The GOP candidate's visit to a nuclear power plant, highlights the promise and peril of a technology that is a key component of his sweeping plan to help the country overcome its energy crisis.
Debbie, I must wonder about your ability to balance out the situation we, as a nation, face. I agree with about 90% of your observations (or should I say convictions) regarding McCain. However, Mr. Obama has a whole truck load of stuff he needs to address and given his background, which you really need to spend time digging into rather then just drinking the Democratic flavored Kool-Aide. Truth be told neither one of these guys and their running mates have the ability to lead this nation in these times. The sad part is that this is the best that the political power dealers, Wall Street/financial crowd, Hollywood idiots, and the moronic moguls of news dissemination have chosen for the people to vote on. I respect your right to choose your poison. But please realize poison is poison regardless if the label says Obama or McCain. And be honest with at least yourself - neither one of these political creatures have the talents, knowledge or understanding how to correct the nations problems. The healing must start with the citizens. We must stop allowing these people to influencing us to the point that we hate and dishonor one another because she/he just cannot see things the same way as my candidate sees it and they tell me I should see it. My faith is with the people and their ability to rise to the call, not with some political waste looking to embolden her/himself.
I am so happy to see that someone is actually doing research on a candidate and not just believing the campaign ads. Maybe you could also look up his grade at Annapolis( 894 out of 899) and his extra marital affairs on his first wife that are shown on wikapedia. The truth about the Lincoln Trust scandal and the 7 homes he owns plus the millions he is worth would also prove interesting.
